The court of honour

Documentary

Renée, Brigitte, Paulette, and Raymonde don't know Jean Vilar and his "popular theatre," but they do know that the class struggle is waged everywhere, including on stage! After having fought a social and legal battle against the Samsonite factory in Hénin-Beaumont for 10 years, seven former workers moved from the courtroom to the theatre.

Accompanied by professionals, they perform a theatre piece inspired by their battle, and discover a very enthusiastic public in their region. And their adventure takes on expected dimensions when they're invited to perform at the prestigious Avignon festival in July of 2018! Their presence at one of the greatest theatre festivals in the world reveals a struggle that is still to be waged, for equality of access to culture for all.
