"I am like you" whispers a young Ivorian woman, shyly pushing the door of the LGBTQI center. Here, the voices of those who seek asylum in France because of homophobia in their country are heard.
For several years, the LGBTQIF center in Lille has been welcoming homosexual exiles who have fled homophobic persecution in their country and who are looking for support and help in their efforts to obtain refugee status. They will have to prove that they are homosexuals in front of an administration that will ruthlessly go into the details of their intimate life. But how to express, how to admit what they have had to hide, and what led them to flee their country?
Bruno, Nico and Rehin strive to forge a sense of solidarity among these men and women who are so close and yet so different from them, but who above all reflect the fragile condition of homosexuals from abroad... as well as from here.
